Dec 09, 2017
FEEDBACK from the SMEs Bazaar of the LiveWIRE 8th SMEs Promotion event that took place on December 1-3, comprising 120 local entrepreneurs and government agencies in Indoor Stadium in Berakas, has been very encouraging.
A spokesperson for the Youth Development Centre (PPB) said, “We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to LiveWIRE for this opportunity given to our students.
“The three-day event provided them with experience as well as challenges in managing a business. We are already looking forward to the next event.”
Youths from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Agro-Technology Campus who participated in the event said, “Thank you very much LiveWIRE for this opportunity, we have gained valuable experience.”
Other vendors included ‘Under Cover Henna and The Soap Cottage Brunei’ whose feedback cites, “I would like to thank LiveWIRE Brunei for this successful event. We are grateful for your help and support for local SMEs.”
Pita Burger said, “Thank you to the LiveWIRE team for tirelessly organising and successfully executing this event. We had a good turn out as hoped and we look forward to the next event. We should credit ourselves to have courageously undertaken a business endeavour and hopefully by overcoming all of its challenges that we can be successful be it a small or large enterprise.”
The event also saw some vendors participating for the first time, including Ummie’s Shoppe, saying “We would like to take this opportunity to thank the LiveWIRE staff, committee and volunteers for organising this SMEs Promotion event. We are very thankful for the opportunity given to us. We made a lot of new friends and new customers.”
An anonymous vendor said, “Without events such as this organised by LiveWIRE, there would be less opportunities given to SMEs like us. Not everyone has the capability in running a business but more businesses are needed to develop an economy and country.
The LiveWIRE 8th SMEs Promotion is a collaborative effort between LiveWIRE Brunei, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Ministry of Education and the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC).
The event aimed at attracting and encouraging more youths to be involved in entrepreneurial activities, which will contribute to the social and economic development of the country.
